I sort of sniped an eBay auction last night. Waited until 20 seconds left, placed bid. 20 seconds I feel is enough if they wanted it to rebid, or for me to counter.
I did win with not having to rebid or opposing bids.

Is 20 seconds the proper eBay etiquette? I sniped a vintage knife on eBay in the final 10 seconds two weeks ago. I didn’t lose sleep over it. Maybe I should have.

I actually see nothing wrong with sniping. That’s really the best way to bid on ebay. If someone wanted it more they would have bid more, simple as that.

Toyota won’t be a threat until at least 2018. Ogier drove both the Yaris and the Fiesta, Toyota offered him one of the most lucrative WRC contracts ever, but he still signed with M-Sport because they had the better car, and probably by no small margin if he was willing to walk away from that much money.

That’s what the max bid is for, you put the most you’re willing to pay for it, and nobody else can take it unless they pay more than you’re willing to. If you didn’t put your max bid in, that’s on you.

I’ve done down to 5 & 3. I don’t think there is an etiquette in sniping. I have also rebid higher on some things that were under $10, but when you are bidding quarters at a time it’s mainly for the thrill. Then you loose and have to find the next auction that ends in 4 more days and Repete.
A coworker has a bot thing that snipes at last seconds too. I’m just not that into it.

Don’t lose sleep, if you try to give them your hand they’ll take half your torso, etc. Other people are brutally cold when it comes to that stuff.

I’ve only sniped once, but I don’t think it counts, because I had already placed bids earlier in that auction. I established myself as an active bidder, then waited until the last minute to declare my max bid.
